OVERVIEW: Diamond Willow (Northern / Wikmasigan) Fungus (Haploporus odorus), also known as Aniseed Polypore, is found above 51 degrees latitude in Canada and Europe. If you've ever sat in in the wet heat of a pitch black Sweat Lodge, you know there is no mistaking this very special medicine when it is fed to the Grandfathers.
TRADITIONAL USES: Traditionally, this sacred mushroom has been used as a protective and meditative aid during ceremony. It has also been carved into beads for necklaces, and has been found sewn onto on sacred war robes for its general protective powers.
