About the Artist: Francine Commanda

Francine Commanda is a First Nations Artisan based out of Gatineau, Quebec. She has been creating works of art on a variety of mediums for over 40 years. Having been denied access to her culture as a child, Francine now ensures her creations reflect her First Nations background and culture. She intertwines traditional aspects with modern concepts to ensure the past blends in with today for the future.

All of her creations begin with a thought which then travel to her heart before touching her hands thus ensuring they are unique pieces intended to be cherished by those who are gifted or purchase them.
