PART(S) USED: Dried Flower Petals.
OVERVIEW: Centifolias, also known as the Cabbage Rose, are defined by their thin, delicate petals which overlap to form globular blooms that extend from long drooping canes. These roses tend to "hang their heads" with the weight of their blooms. The Centifolias flaunt pink, and occasionally white blossoms accented by its grayish green leaves. With a sweet honey scent, this rose will leave a lasting memory in the hearts of every gardener.
TRADITIONAL USES: In Indigenous medicine, Rose petals have been used in many ways for a variety of conditions. The Curanderos use Rose petals to invoke feminine energies and spiritual protection. Traditional healers applied Rose petal paste on wounds and the body to speed healing, decrease sweating, and in tincture and tea for gastritis, regulating the bowel, controlling acidity, preventing scurvy (when fresh, it may contain significant amount of vitamin C).
Rose petals can also be used cosmetically for a variety of purposes, such as in a cleanser, rosewater toner, and as an ingredient in many bath soaks.
