Chantal Lanouette is an Algonquin woman from Lac Barriere, La Verendrye, Quebec, Canada. Chantal is a self taught Artist who discovered her talent as a young child and has been painting all her life. Chantal's vivid use of colour is brilliant. Her images centre on the beauty of Indigenous women and the radiant natural spirit. Chantal uses nature, and animals to tell stories of hope and inspiration. Her work has been collected by Indigenous Elders, and exhibited in the Kumik Lodge at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada in Gatineau. Recently her work has been the focus of a successful fundraising campaign by the First Nations Child and Caring Society of Canada. Chantal's paintings have traveled across North America and are included in collections in Europe bringing light and life to all who have the great opportunity to experience them.
