Welcoming our new Vice President

Please join Karen and Bernard in officially welcoming our daughter, Kira, as the new Vice President of TLTP.
This moment feels especially meaningful because Kira’s journey with TLTP also began nearly two decades ago. At just 10 years old, she started earning pocket money making smudge bundles for TLTP. Back then, none of us could have imagined that those small hands helping around the business would one day become the hands helping guide its future.
Kira is a proud citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation. She carries with her a deep appreciation for community, culture, resilience, and connection. These values have shaped her perspective and continue to influence both her personal journey and the way she approaches her work and relationships.
Kira is brilliant and has navigated many challenges. These experiences have shaped her in meaningful ways, contributing to her creativity, deep focus, and unique approach to problem-solving. Over time, she has developed remarkable resilience and strength, which are now some of her greatest assets as a leader.
After returning home from college, Kira joined us full-time and did what every great leader should do: she worked her way up. She learned every corner of the business, took on new responsibilities, developed her skills, and earned the respect of our team through hard work, dedication, and determination.
We are incredibly proud of the woman she has become and the leader she is growing into.
Today, at 28 years old, not only does she step into the role of Vice President, but she is poised to take over the reins of TLTP completely as Karen and Bernard prepare to retire in the next couple of years.
As we celebrate 20 years of TLTP, this announcement is more than a business transition. It is the continuation of a legacy that has been built through family, hard work, community, and belief in the next generation.
The future of Turtle Lodge Trading Post is in very good hands.
Please join us in congratulating Kira as we celebrate this exciting new chapter.
