ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Melanie Villeneuve (Snow Bear) is an artist of French and Ojibwe heritage currently living in Vankleek Hill, Ontario.
Her deep spiritual connection to the Earth and to her Indigenous teachings is clearly evident in her unique style of work.
The work reflects the voices of animals, trees, and spirit beings and it punctuates their place in our lives as something connected to us rather than apart from us. Their beauty and truth still exists beyond the noise of the concrete and machinery that dominates today’s Turtle Island.
Melanie’s paintings are moment of communion with messages sometimes received through
gentle meditation and vision.
