OVERVIEW: Traditionally used in Indigenous Medicine as an adaptogen, which is said to help with stress and the ability to conserve energy. Ashwagandha literally means 'smell and strength of a horse', which may refer to its alleged aphrodisiac properties.
TRADITIONAL USES: Often used as a sleep aid and is considered a grounding and nourishing herb. It is also said to support female well-being.
STORAGE: Keep dry. Store in an airtight container in a dry cupboard away from light.
PRECAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Use at your own risk.
- Do not use Ashwagandha if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have diabetes, blood pressure issues, stomach ulcers, thyroid disorders, or an autoimmune disease such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis. Discontinue use at least two weeks before any surgeries.
