OVERVIEW: Traditionally used in Indigenous and traditional Chinese medicines for its cleansing and skin smoothing properties. A popular vegetable in Japan, the entire plant is said to be edible. The plant can grow to a height of 9 feet, and its aromatic "carrot-like" taproot can grow to 3 feet deep.
TRADITIONAL USES: Traditionally used for skin conditions. It is said to promote the flow of bile and increase circulation to the skin. Traditional uses also include as a diuretic, to induce sweating, as an alterative to remove the build up of waste in the kidneys, skin, and mucus membranes, and to reduce pain associated with rheumatism.
STORAGE: Keep dry. Store in an airtight container in a dry cupboard away from light.
